Axe and Shield Viking Miniature Norse Warrior Resin
About this miniature
Made from high-quality resin. Ready for battle, this is Axe and Shield Viking Miniature by Cast N Play from We Print Miniatures, a warrior who looks like he’s seen his fair share of fights. From his unkempt hair to his battle-worn shield, every detail tells a story of countless skirmishes and hard-fought victories. With axe in hand and a determined stance, he’s prepared to stand his ground, whether defending his homeland or leading a fearless charge into enemy lines.
As seen in the model, this rugged Norse fighter carries a hefty double-headed axe and a round, bossed shield, with fur-trimmed gear, thick beard, and a forward-braced pose that reads perfectly on the tabletop as a frontline defender or raider champion. A fantastic project for hobbyist painters, his textured hair, layered clothing, and worn equipment offer plenty of opportunities for creative interpretation—weathered wood grain on the shield, metal scratches on the axe, and cold-climate leathers and furs.
Resin miniature collectors and painters will appreciate the crisp sculpted details, and this character also fits seamlessly into parties, warbands, and skirmish forces. Campaign Ideas Want to bring this battle-ready Viking into your game? Here are a few adventure hooks: 1. The Lone Survivor – The last warrior of a fallen clan, he wanders the land seeking vengeance. Will the party aid him in his quest, or will they be caught in the crossfire? 2. The Cursed Shield – His shield carries an ancient rune that grants incredible strength—but at a terrible cost. The party may need to help him break free of its grip before it consumes him. 3. The Honour Duelist – Insult his honour, and you’ll find yourself in a duel before sunrise. Whether as an ally or an obstacle, he brings an unshakable sense of duty to any encounter.
A Cast N Play original design, available in 28mm, 32mm, 35mm, and 55mm scales, this fantasy miniature is ideal for Dungeons & Dragons, wargaming, and RPG campaigns. Whether as a noble warrior, a fierce enemy, or an ally with a score to settle, this Viking is ready to make an impact. Don’t forget to share your painted version—we’d love to see how you bring him to life! For painters building armies, this model also pairs well with other resin miniatures as a berserker, huscarl, shield-brother, or raider leader.

How we size our miniatures
We measure every mini from foot to eyeline, assuming a 6 ft male, so the millimetre is the eyeline, not the top of the helmet. Females, monsters, and smaller folk scale up or down so they don't look silly standing next to a standard human.
The standard for games like D&D and many roleplay games as well as older versions of Grimdark Battlefields.
Many games use this size as it provides more detail for painting and to fit with modern game systems like Grimdark Wargames and skirmish games. Also used for 28mm Monsters to give them even more threat.
When you need a bit more threat a 35mm mini in a 32 or 28mm game can add real weight to an encounter. Great for painting to maximise detail for the tabletop
Built for shelf display, busts and showcase paint jobs. Maximum surface area for blending, framing and competition-grade detail.

Questions we get asked
A LOT
We dispatch orders five days a week. Everything is printed to order, so bigger orders take longer to print and pass quality checks. Our average dispatch time is 4 days, and very large orders can take up to 20 days. You can contact us at any time to check on your order. If a UK order is taking longer than usual, we can usually send part of it first: just ask!
No! All our miniatures are dispatched washed and cured, so they arrive as a clean base to prime and paint. No waiting, just miniatures ready to use.
Most orders are dispatched within 4 days. Royal Mail usually delivers in 2 to 3 days in the UK and 7 to 16 days to the rest of the world. Busy periods and Christmas can add a few days.
Our miniatures are made from light-reactive resin. It's all very cutting-edge science (or witchcraft, we aren't too sure).
Our resin is designed to flex rather than snap, which helps prevent breakages in the post. Now and then a thin part like a sword, staff or gun barrel arrives slightly bent. This is normal and easy to fix.
Warm water: dip the bent part in water at 40 to 50°C for 10 seconds, then hang the miniature upside down with the part pointing at the floor so gravity straightens it. Let it cool fully before you turn it upright. Still bent? Dip it again for 20 seconds; thicker parts take a little longer.
Never use a radiator, microwave or oven. If you're unsure, just get in touch and we'll be happy to help.

A slight sheen on some areas is completely normal for cured resin and does not affect the model. It can show where supports were removed or where the surface cured a little differently during printing.
If you'd like a uniform finish, a quick scuff with fine sandpaper followed by your usual primer gives an even, matt surface ready to paint.
